The Army's Mechanized Fighting Force
While attending AIT at the U.S. Army Armor Center, you will learn modern combat operations that involve tanks and other tracked vehicles. Your Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training will be combined into one school, called One Station Unit Training (OSUT).
During this AIT, you will learn vehicle operation, maintenance, surveillance, communications and weapons.

During AIT at the Armor Center, you will gain basic knowledge and hands-on skills in one of two areas of study:
cavalry scout operations
You will become a commander's eyes and ears by conducting specialized reconnaissance missions to identify enemy activity. Because of the diversity of firepower they employ during a combat operation, Cavalry Scouts are trained on more weapons systems than any other Soldier.
armor operations
You will learn to operate one of the most advanced tanks in the world, the M1A2. You will learn how to utilize firepower, maneuver and engage enemy targets.
