
HELICOPTERS OF SOAR
The 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment provides Special Forces teams with aviation support. They operate advanced aircraft, modified to adapt to the particulars of any Special Forces mission.

UH-60 BLACK HAWK
The UH-60 Black Hawk is a twin turbine engine, single rotor, semi-monocoque fuselage helicopter. The helicopter is generally used as a tactical transport for troops and supplies.
The Black Hawk may also be used for training exercises and disaster relief missions.
A/MH-6 LITTLE BIRD
Because of its maneuverability, and its ability to evade detection, the Little Bird is an ideal tool for short-range reconnaissance missions and light combat support.
The Little Bird can be equipped with 7.62mm miniguns, 70mm rocket pods, .50-caliber machine guns, or Hellfire air-to-ground missiles. The helicopter can also be equipped with radar jammers and radar warning receivers.


MH-47 CHINOOK
The Chinook is a medium to heavy helicopter capable of transporting Special Forces teams and equipment long distances. This special model is equipped with an aerial refueling probe, a rescue hoist, a fast-rope rappelling system, two 7.62mm miniguns and radar warning receivers.
MH-60K/L BLACK HAWK
The MH-60 generally supports a smaller payload, and is used to transport Special Forces Soldiers short distances. This versatile helicopter is equipped with radar warning receivers and M-60, M-240, or GAU-2B machine guns, which are mounted to the side windows or cabin doors.
