PSYOP TEAMS

Regional PSYOP Team
Regional PSYOP teams conduct military information support operations as part of a U.S. Ambassador’s public diplomacy plan, a military operation, or an allied coalition strategy. These operations are often executed in the form of multimedia campaigns.

These teams also coordinate strategic and operational influence and information activities among interagency partners and advise foreign forces on properly communicating important information.

  • Plans, integrates, and executes MISO in support of a U.S. Ambassador’s public diplomacy plan –often in the form of multimedia campaigns
  • Coordinates and synchronizes strategic and operational influence and information activities among interagency partners
  • Deployed worldwide in support of DOD objectives


Tactical PSYOP Team
Tactical PSYOP Teams play a key role in establishing rapport with foreign audiences and in identifying key communicators to use in achieving U.S. national objectives.

  • Integrates and executes MISO in support of a Joint Special Operations Task Force
  • Supports Special Forces Groups in executing a geographic combatant commander’s theater security cooperation plan
  • Supports DOD Global War on Terror plan


Special Operations PSYOP Detachment-Echo and Special MISO Teams
Special MISO Teams are three-person teams or even smaller. These teams, which are nested with the 4th Special Forces Group, generally have more specialized missions and capabilities.
