Preparing Before Turning 18: Basic Training Q&A
PVT Kyle Cantin urges potential recruits to start physical training as soon as possible.
Hi, I’m Private Kyle Cantin from Lunenberg, Vermont and I’m about to graduate basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Jay is from North Hampton, New Hampshire, asks this question: “What can I do to get ready for the Army before I turn 18?”
You can start filling out paperwork as soon as you turn 17 with a parent’s consent. And as far as the physical part of it, most people have trouble with it. It’s measured on a 222 scale, its 2 minutes of push-ups, 2 minutes of sit-ups, and a 2-mile run.
I’d say start doing that as soon as you can and you should be all set and I hope that answers your question.
