Because of the Army Reserve I obtained skills that made me excel as a trauma nurse in the ER. Some of the high-level trauma stuff that only doctors do civilian side. Usually the nurse doesn’t get to go into the trauma rooms until they’ve had at least a year of experience as a nurse. After my second week of orientation they’d already been placing me in there multiple times just ‘cause they recognized the skills and the confidence I had in treating the trauma patients.
