Hi, my name is Private Porter from Chesapeake, Ohio, Cody from Omaha, Nebraska asks; "How do you stay in touch with your family during basic training?"

Well Cody, you get about an hour of personal time every night to write letters, and after about two-weeks you can receive mail. Then after a certain point in to your training, you can get a phone call on Sunday evenings, which really helps. Personally, this was one of the hardest things for me during basic training, but you can do it, just hang in there and good luck.
