Senior ROTC cadets instruct lower classmen on how to properly execute a squad training exercise.

“ One of the biggest formal events we do as a Battalion is the Military Ball. There, we enjoy many long traditions of the Army and are able to socialize with alumni, cadre, and other cadets. In addition to the Military Ball, as a member of the Bronco Battalion you have the opportunity to go on at least one Field Training Exercise (FTX) each semester. Various ROTC clubs such as Color Guard, Officer Christian Fellowship, and Rifle Team also make being a member of one of the best ROTC Battalions in the nation a more fulfilling experience. Two more fast-paced club opportunities are The Western Ranger Organization, which specializes in small-unit tactics, and the Ranger Challenge Team, which competes once a year in the Fall semester in a grueling, physically challenging, and mentally exhausting competition against 15 other ROTC universities. ”

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.
