Brigadier General (Retired) Harrison

Retired, Executive Vice President and Manager, NationsBank Tennessee (now Bank of America) for 40 years

BG(R) Harrison is a consistent and generous supporter of the ROTC program at MTSU.  He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from MTSU in 1951.  General Harrison is a native of Nashville, Tennessee.  He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 16 during WWII and served as a signalman aboard the Essex Class Carrier, the U.S.S. Hancock (The Fighting Hannah).  He served as an enlisted person for 7 years in the Navy, the Army and the Tennessee National Guard.  He was commissioned in the Armor branch following his graduation from Middle Tennessee State College in 1951.  BG Harrison has served in a variety of conventional company and field grade assignments.  He served in the 30th Separate Armored Brigade as its Executive Officer, deputy commander and his last assignment was as the Commanding General of the 30th Separate Armored Brigade.  He has completed 40 years of service beginning in World War II.
