ROTC OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO EXCEL
In Army ROTC, it's not all classroom and field training. There are many opportunities for you to get to know your fellow cadets better and increase your skills in a variety of areas. Learn more about these events and activities below.

Touchdown Army!

RANGER CHALLENGE
The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.
PERSHING RIFLES
The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.
Tri-Service Sports Competition
During the semesters, ROTC programs from surrounding units compete againsteach other in various sports competitions for the coveted President’sCup. The War Eagle Battalion won the football competition in2005.
Kadettes
The Kadettes are an all-female organization that serves as an auxillary to,and is sponsored by, the Army ROTC. This service organization works onnumerous community programs, promotes interest in the Army, assist in thehosting of social and official ROTC functions. The officer positions arefilled by young ladies who are campus leaders. The semester socialgatherings are held to promote the camaraderie of the corps and develop a senseof pride in belonging to a proud organization – the U.S. Army Reserve OfficerTraining Corps at Auburn University.
War Eagle Invitational
This even is an annual event sponsored by the Army ROTC and conducted in thespring. This is a competition designed to give Junior ROTC programs ofall services the chance to compete in drill, rifle marksmanship, orienteering,and physical fitness with other high schools units from across thesoutheast. Trophies are award to individuals and teams that place first,second, or third in each of the events.
