Hi, my name is Staff Sergeant Danny Rodgers. I'm a 31 Bravo Zulu 6, which is a military police working dog handler.
I originally joined the Army on a two year contract. I started out at Fort Drum, New York. I was a line MP.
Once I decided to become a military working dog handler, for the military police core, I attended dog school at Lackland Air force base in San Antonio, Texas. I learned the basics and things that I could apply when I got to my unit. My dog, Igor, is specially trained in explosives.
We get these dogs when they're puppies and by the time that they are one and a half to two years old, they can save millions of lives.
I love what I do. I love working with dogs. I've learned things in the Army that will be with me for the rest of my life.
When I look at myself in the mirror I am proud of who I've become.
