The radar repairer is an essential member of the Army communications maintenance team and performs maintenance on ground surveillance radar and associated equipment.

The modern radar system is one of the most decisive pieces of technology on the battlefield.

Maintaining this essential equipment, is the responsibility of the Army Radar Repairer.

Soldiers working in this MOS inspect, test, and adjust system components and test equipment to specific tolerances..,

…perform initial, in-process, on-site technical and quality control inspections..,

…troubleshoot radar and associated equipment assemblies, subassemblies, modular and circuit elements for deficiencies and malfunctions..,

…repair, remove and replace defective components and parts..,

…and prepare and maintain equipment logs, equipment modification and utilization records.

This career field requires individuals who have a general understanding of math and physics..,

…an interest in working with electronic and radar equipment..,

…and an ability to apply electronic principles and concepts.

After completion of 10 weeks of Army Basic Combat Training you will attend 37 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

After which you will be eligible for worldwide assignments.

As a Radar Repairer you may have an opportunity to advance in your career through additional technical, tactical and leadership training.
