As an essential member of the Army’s weapons maintenance team, the PATRIOT system repairer is primarily responsible for performing field level maintenance on the PATRIOT system, a combat missile system that features a phased array radar set and control station.

The Army's primary surface to air, medium to high altitude air defense weapon is the Patriot Missile System.

Maintaining it are the most highly trained and skilled professional Soldiers in the world.

This Army career requires individuals who have an interest in electronics, mechanical systems and mathematics.

And have the ability to understand complex diagrams and schematics.

Your primary duties as a Patriot System Repairer will be to maintain, troubleshoot and repair components of the weapon system to include the radar set, the engagement control system and the launching station.

You will perform tests and make adjustments on components to specific tolerances..,

...isolate system malfunctions using diagnostic software, and test equipment..,

...and repair unserviceable items by removing and replacing defective components.

In addition you will determine shortcomings and malfunctions in electronic assemblies, and system test equipment.

After completion of 10 weeks of Army Basic Combat Training you will be assigned to the U.S. Army Ordnance School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma for 45 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Your training will begin with Basic Electronics Maintenance and includes courses taught in classroom with labs, as well as on the job and tactical field training.

After completion of your training you will be eligible for worldwide assignment, you may work in a maintenance shop or deploy in a tactical field environment.
