My name is Private Mason from Franklin County, Virginia; and TJ from .., Texas wrote in; "How did you let your parents know that you wanted to join the Army?"

Letting your parents know that you're wanting to join the Army is not an easy thing to do. The important thing is, is that you tell them is together, and not on individual basis.

As for me, it was really tough to tell my folk I wanted to join the Army. Just because of the circumstances of what I was getting into. But the important thing is that you let them know that it's something you want to do, that it's something you believe in doing. Like I said it's not going to be easy, and at first it's going to be tough for them to take it, but if it's something you really want to do, just keep up with them and do it. Other than that just good luck.
