Good afternoon, I'm Private First Class Russ Miller; I'm from Dallas, Texas. Today I'm going to be answering a question from Eric from Grand Prairie. He asks; "Do I have to be in good shape when I go into basic training?"

Well Eric, I would highly recommend that you get in pretty good shape. I'd start your push-ups; your sit-ups; do as much running as you can. The Army will get you in great shape it'll get you through it. But it'll make your basic training experience a lot more pleasurable and you'll get less yelled at by the drill sergeants.
