Wild Warrior Challenge 3

"Wild Warrior Challenge is an annual spring event that is also open to the public. Cadets compete individually and as a team proving their agility through tough obstacles and rough terrain."

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Contracting

Throughout the semester students make a life changing decision and take an oath to become a member of the Army ROTC program.  As one Cadet stated, “I like knowing that I have accepted the challenge of protecting and serving my country.”

Awards Ceremony

Each semester Cadets are recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, physical training, camp participation, and other events inspiring pride and friendly competition for future events.

Commissioning Ceremony

During the three commissioning ceremonies throughout the year, Cadets are commissioned as a Second  Lieutenant into the Army National Guard, the Army Reserves, or active duty Army.  This is the beginning of their next exciting step in their career.

Scabbard and Blade

Scabbard and Blade was founded during the school year 1904-1905 at the University of Wisconsin by five senior officers in the Cadet Corps.   The growth has been steady in members and companies throughout history in colleges and universities which have the Reserve Officer Training Corps.

The purpose of the organization is to have greater influence in the military affairs of the communities in which we reside providing a positive image of the ROTC program.  Scabbard and Blade is a national military honor society of which certain qualifications apply for membership.
