“ I get to be in the outdoors, work and learn about military equipment, get new experiences with repelling and all the other events. ”

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Commissioning Ceremony

Each spring several cadets are commissioned into the United States Army during ceremonies held on each campus. Families, friends, University Presidents and other distinguished guests take part in the commissioning as well as the ceremonial "First Salute" tradition.

Rifle Team

The team shoots both the air rifle and 22-caliber match rifle in competitions with other universities.  Each firer will work on improving their marksmanship skills in the three basic positions required for competition, which are the standing, sitting and kneeling positions. All equipment for competing and practicing is provided to personnel on the team at no cost.
