University of West Florida

The University of West Florida's Army ROTC program was established on campus in 1980. Since its inception, the program has continued to grow in size and in stature. Each year, UWF Army Cadets are evaluated at Basic and Advanced Camps in Fort Knox, KY, consistently receiving excellent marks among their peers. As part of the Argonaut Battalion, UWF Army Cadets have had the opportunity to attend Airborne, Air Assault, Mountain Warfare, and Combat Dive training, participate in paid internships with the NSA and Army Medical Department, and study abroad in nations all over the world where they train and study with foreign militaries. Additionally, because UWF is situated so close to 7th Special Forces Group and the 6th Ranger Training Battalion, our cadets have the opportunity to learn from some of the nation's most elite Soldiers. For a small school, the UWF Army ROTC Program has cultivated a highly successful program with excellent instructors, opportunities, and a high commission rate. While some schools focus on past glory, UWF continues to build its reputation with each new commissioning class.
