RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Victor Strizzi CrossFit Competition

During the spring academic term each year, the University of Tampa Army ROTC Spartan Battalion hosts the Victor Strizzi Games. The Games are a functional fitness competition sponsored by Victor’s friend and classmate, Ben Bunn at Cigar City CrossFit, that allow members of the UT campus community to compete in honor of an unforgettable member of the Spartan Battalion. Victor Strizzi was a prior-service Army Soldier that earned his spot in the Spartan Battalion with the goal of returning to active duty as an Army physician. Victor was a biochemistry major at UT, and he was the most respected and most physically fit Cadet in the Spartan Battalion. Victor’s life was tragically taken in 2009 during a motor vehicle accident during his second year in the program. The Victor Strizzi Games are hosted by the Spartan Battalion each year to honor Victor’s family and the memory of this incredible warrior and leader.
