FarriseeActing Deputy Chief of Staff G-1, United States ArmyEDUCATION: MOST RECENT ASSIGNMENT: Major General Farrisee assumed duties as the Acting Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, United States Army, in August 2009. Major General Farrisee was born 26 April 1956 in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and was commissioned in the Adjutant General’s Corps. She is a graduate of the AG Officer Basic Course, AG Officer Advanced Course, and the Army Command and General Staff College. She earned a Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University. Major General Farrisee’s early assignments include Executive Officer, A Company, Troop Command, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico and Officers’ Club Manager, HQ USEUCOM, Vaihingen, Germany. Other key assignments include Chief, Officer Management; Chief, Enlisted Management; and Deputy, Military Personnel Office, Fort Bliss, Texas; Chief, Personnel Plans and Actions Division; Commander, 525th Replacement Company; and Assistant Secretary to the General Staff, I Corps and Fort Lewis, Washington. Her second tour in Germany included assignments as Chief, Strength Management Division, 32d AADCOM and Commander, 575th Personnel Services Company, 5th Personnel Group, V Corps in Darmstadt. She then served as Assistant Executive Officer, Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel and Assistant Executive Officer, Chief of Staff of the Army, Washington, DC. Upon returning to Fort Lewis in 1995, she assumed command of the 22d Personnel Services Battalion. Following her Senior Service College she commanded the Enlisted Records and Evaluation Center (EREC), Indianapolis, Indiana, with a follow on assignment as the Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Management Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense. Served with distinct honor as the 61st The Adjutant General of the Army, Human Resources Command. Major General Farrisee’s last assignment was as the Commanding General, U.S. Army Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, South Carolina, from 17 August 2004 to 6 October 2006. She assumed her current assignment as the Director of Military Personnel Management, Army G-1, Washington D.C. on 12 October 2006. Her awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Staff Identification Badge and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Identification Badge.
