The Bulldog Battalion dates back to the University of Georgia’s early history.

The University of Georgia Military Science Department becomes the program ofchoice for any student seeking a first class Warrior-Scholar education. UGA Army ROTC produces Army officers that react to increasingly demandingexpectations during the performance of their duties, and who understand thattheir actions have strategic and international implications.  Thisdepartment produces Army Second Lieutenants who are mentally, physically, andemotionally prepared for the challenges they will face after graduation. This program, in conjunction with the academic course of instruction, providesfuture leaders with technical and analytical skills to deal with increasinglydiverse situations throughout the world.
