The Bulldog Battalion dates back to the University of Georgia’s early history.

The University of Georgia Military Science Department becomes the program of choice for any student seeking a first class Warrior-Scholar education. UGA Army ROTC produces Army officers that react to increasingly demanding expectations during the performance of their duties, and who understand that their actions have strategic and international implications.  This department produces Army Second Lieutenants who are mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared for the challenges they will face after graduation. This program, in conjunction with the academic course of instruction, provides future leaders with technical and analytical skills to deal with increasingly diverse situations throughout the world.
