“ I went to the Sabaluski Air Assault School at Fort Campbell. It was a great experience where I learned a lot about Army aircrafts, external load operations, and rappelling. It was fun to be around a lot of enlisted guys while learning a lot from them. My attention to small details is much greater now. ”

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Commissioning Ceremony

Each May and often in December we commission our graduates in a ceremony attended by families, friends, the University President, and often the Deans of the colleges.  Family members often pin on the new second lieutenant bars as part of the ceremony

Physical Fitness Training

Each week we have physical fitness training, usually on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, in the newly built Recreation & Fitness Complex at UD, to improve and maintain a high level of physical fitness in our cadets.

Leadership Lab

Every other week we have a leadership laboratory session for approximately 1.5 hours where we learn hands-on elements of military training with the MS IV and MS III cadets often provide the instruction for the MS I & II cadets.
