See how interesting college can be when you're a part of Army ROTC. You'll be a college student first and foremost, just like the rest of the student body, but there's a key difference: you'll have even more opportunities to succeed.

These opportunities include Field Training Exercises (FTXs) in the spring and fall where Cadets build their teamwork and leadership skills. Cadets also participate in Physical Training (PT) on a regular basis to keep up their strength and endurance.

In addition, each battalion has its own unique calendar of events and activities.

Being a part of the Bruin Battalion

means you'll be in the company of a diverse group of individuals with broadinterests. Individuals who were presidents of their student governments,captains of their varsity sports teams, club presidents, or members of theNational Honor Society. Your courses will include Leadership Development,Military Skills and Adventure Training.

UCLA Cadets are students first

just like everyone else on campus. You take a regular schedule of classesand pursue their regular academic major, whatever it may be.  Once a weekyou meet together as a group for leadership laboratory, along with your regularROTC academic class meetings. During lab you wear military uniforms and conductmilitary and leadership training. Students can take ROTC as an elective course,an academic minor, or pursue the entire program, which culminates in acommission as a Second Lieutenant - an Army Officer.
