UCLA Bruin Battalion Alumni graduate every year from the toughest training in the military – the US Army Ranger School, Special Forces Qualification course, and the Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape (SERE) training programs. They serve with distinction in a variety of leadership positions and assignments around the world in over 16 different career specialties.
Teaching the Leaders of Tomorrow
Established at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1920, theUCLA Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) develops college students intoleaders who exhibit self-discipline, initiative, confidence, intelligence, andphysical fitness and can perform under mental and physical pressures. TheUCLA Military Science Department is an open program to UCLA students andstudents attending a college or university in the Los Angeles area that doesnot have an Army ROTC program of its own.
