Ranger Challenge Competition

A cadet competes in a Ranger Challenge Competition which involves physical and technical challenges.

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Commissioning Ceremony

Each spring several cadets are commissioned into the United States Army during ceremonies held on each campus. Families, friends, University President sand other distinguished guests take part in the commisioning ceremony. Cadets earn their rank as a 2nd Lieutentant. Soon they will begin their career as an United States Army Officer. ...

University Athletic Events

The Bearkat Battalion is responsible for providing a Color Guard to present the American flag at most university sporting events. Cadets are also a part of the Cannon Crew. This exciting and very loud cannon can be heard at football games and other University events.

Field Training Exercises

Cadets often go out into the field to develop their leadership skills. They are often called upon to lead their peers to complete a mission in tough conditions. Army ROTC will teach you how to lead a small unit in the field, how to navigate using only a compass and a map, and how to operate the legendary M-16 rifle.
