Military Ball

“ The activities that we do as ROTC cadets are fun and interesting, but at the same time will prepare us for future obstacles we are sure to face. ”

CDT PFC Jordan Ralph, Haubstadt, IN

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Military Ball

Cadets plan and conduct an annual Military Ball, and learn Army customs and traditions in the process.  This is also another chance to practice detailed mission planning, and stresses the importance of rehearsals.

Commissioning Ceremony

The end of each Fall and Spring Semester bring Commissioning Ceremonies, where graduates formally receive their commission as an officer in the Army.  These are well attended by the faculty and staff, as well as the friends and family that have supported the cadet’s along their chosen path to service as a commissioned officer.  Here a new Lieutenant receives his oath of office from a commissioned officer, and has his first set of gold Lieutenant’s bars pinned on by his parents.
