See how interesting college can be when you're a part of Army ROTC. You'll be a college student first and foremost, just like the rest of the student body, but there's a key difference: you'll have even more opportunities to succeed.

These opportunities include Field Training Exercises (FTXs) in the spring and fall where Cadets build their teamwork and leadership skills. Cadets also participate in Physical Training (PT) on a regular basis to keep up their strength and endurance.

In addition, each battalion has its own unique calendar of events and activities.

What does the Nittany Lion Battalion have to offer you?

The Nittany Lion Battalion is one of the largest Army ROTC programs inAmerica. We have strived to provide a diverse, challenging, and relevantcurriculum to the cadets.  Our Corps of Cadets is large, but the cadre(instructor / professor) to cadet ratio is 1:15, and provides for a greatlearning environment.

    To help the cadets stay focused on their academics, weprovide tutors in physics, chemistry, biology, and all levels of mathematics;we also have a computer lab open for the Cadets use whenever they need. The Cadets academic success is our number one priority!

Cadre who know how to lead.

Collectively, the Nittany Lion Battalion’s Cadre provide over 360 years ofmilitary experience to the table. All of our cadre have been deployed and havereal world experience leading today’s Soldiers in some of the most difficultsituations.  And they are here to teach you to do the same thing… Lead…Whether you’re eventually going to lead Soldiers, or you are leading yourcompany’s employees to meet the company’s fiscal goals, we teach you skillsthat are effective, current, and productive.

Being a part of the Nittany Lion Battalion is like being in a Fraternity.

The Nittany Lion Battalion has over 200 cadets and 25 cadre andassistants.  Though it may seem like a large group, it is more like alarge family.  Being a cadet here, you’ll find that the cadets have thesame values you do, the same desire to excel, and the same drive and motivationto be a leader and exceptional student.  Surrounding yourself with thesetypes of people, your kind of people, you will find yourself being inspired todo the best you can, and you’ll find people to share the path of excellencewith you.
