The Lute Battalion
In April 2001, the PLU Army ROTC program was granted host school status bynot only the staff of Pacific Lutheran University, but also by the Congress ofthe United States of America.
Lute Battalion Academic Makeup
Other than PLU students, the Lute Battalion is comprised of students fromSaint Martin's University, University of Washington-Tacoma, Pierce CommunityCollege, Tacoma Community College, South Sound Community College, and theUniversity of Puget Sound.
PLU ROTC Diversity
Cadets at Pacific Lutheran University come from a wide variety ofbackgrounds and represent an equally wide variety of majors. However,they all share the common goal of service to the nation through leadership inthe US Army.
Pacific Lutheran University ROTC Goal:
To earn a Bachelor's Degree and complete a rigorous ROTC leadershipinstruction course. Commissioned lieutenants are proud of theiraccomplishments and confident in their abilities to meet the challenges of thefuture.
