“ During my time in ROTC I have made several lasting friendships, which will undoubtedly endure throughout my time in service. Some of my closest college friends were fellow ROTC cadets. We train together, work out together at 6 in the morning, and then hang out on weekends. The majority of my time spent at MSU was around ROTC cadets, and many times they got me through those stressful days near finals week. ”

See how interesting college can be when you're a part of Army ROTC. You'll be a college student first and foremost, just like the rest of the student body, but there's a key difference: you'll have even more opportunities to succeed.

These opportunities include Field Training Exercises (FTXs) in the spring and fall where Cadets build their teamwork and leadership skills. Cadets also participate in Physical Training (PT) on a regular basis to keep up their strength and endurance.

In addition, each battalion has its own unique calendar of events and activities.

Being a part of Spartan Battalion

When you are a Cadet here at MSU, you will be a part of the premier ROTC program in the region.  Our cadets consistently exceed national averages in performance and upon commissioning as Second Lieutenants are confident and competent leaders.

As a Spartan Cadet

You will have the opportunity to experience and do things that most people will never have the chance to do.  Whether it be jumping from a C-130 at Airborne School or qualifying with the M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) at our field training exercise.  MSU ROTC cadets will always be will trained, physically fit and confident people.

Opportunities abound!

ROTC offers full tuition scholarships, monthly stipends, free room and board for out of state students (at Michigan State University), and pays for your required books!  But more importantly, ROTC provides everlasting friendships and invaluable training that will help you succeed in both family and work for the rest of your life.
