A Proud History

Spartan Battalion has been proud to develop the leaders of tomorrow for the past 120 years. 

Army ROTC at Michigan State over the years

Army ROTC at MSU has evolved drastically over the past century.  Demonstration Hall, the home of Army ROTC on campus, was initially used as stables for the ROTC horses.  Now it is the primary training facility used for teaching cadets about the modern Army.

Spartan Battalion has also been proud to develop well rounded and highly motivated individuals for the past 120 years.

Did you know?

Demonstration Hall, home of the Spartan Battalion, was originally used as a riding arena for ROTC cavalry cadets.  In 1949 it was used as the MSU varsity hockey arena until Munn Ice arena was completed in 1974.
