Army ROTC at Lock Haven University

Army ROTC was established at Lock Haven University (then Haven StateCollege) during Spring Semester, 1978. At that time, nine students and twoactive duty Army Cadre members from the Penn State University, ROTC Detachmentset up the program. Since then, the combined efforts of the cadre, collegeadministration, and faculty have enabled the program to become an official hostbattalion within ROTC Cadet Command in October 2002. 

The first commissioned officer from Lock Haven University was commissionedby the Commanding General, First ROTC Region in December 1979. Since then, morethan two hundred and ten additional Lock Haven graduates have beencommissioned. These young officers represent the University while serving inmilitary posts throughout the world.
