Army ROTC at Lock Haven University

Army ROTC was established at Lock Haven University (then Haven State College) during Spring Semester, 1978. At that time, nine students and two active duty Army Cadre members from the Penn State University, ROTC Detachment set up the program. Since then, the combined efforts of the cadre, college administration, and faculty have enabled the program to become an official host battalion within ROTC Cadet Command in October 2002.

The first commissioned officer from Lock Haven University was commissioned by the Commanding General, First ROTC Region in December 1979. Since then, more than two hundred and ten additional Lock Haven graduates have been commissioned. These young officers represent the University while serving inmilitary posts throughout the world.
