“ As a cadet and National Guard member, I have been put into many leadership positions, then most college students ever get the chance to participate in. ”

Robert Hickling, MS II,Hinckley, Ohio

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Each fall and spring cadets are commissioned into the United States Army during ceremonies held on each campus.  Families, friends, university faculty and administrators, and other present and former military guests take part in the commissioning as well as the ceremonial activities.  This is a very special day for the newly commissioned officers to show their stuff.

Each semester students are administered the Oath of Office in order to receive their scholarship benefits.

Each semester cadets plan and execute a military ball and award ceremony to recognize their accomplishments.
