The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Once a year it is a Pirate Battalion tradition to hold a dining-in.  It’s a night of leisure and relaxation as the battalion gets together to enjoy a nice meal and have some fun while doing so.  It is definitely one of the highlights of our fall semester.

Military Ball

During our spring semester we have our annual military ball.  You will be able to enjoy a night amongst your comrades and friends while you have a nice meal accompanied by music and dancing.

Commissioning Ceremony

At the end of each semester we have a handful of cadets that are commissioned into the United States Army.  This event marks the completion of college and the beginning of a new life for the cadet who will receive their oath of office and their gold bars.  Following the ceremony is the rendering of the “first salute” in which the newly commissioned lieutenant will be rendered their first salute by a non-commissioned officer.
