“ I joined ROTC a little afraid that it would hinder my social life, but I’ve learned quickly that not only does ROTC introduce me to new ways of thinking and acting, but I’ve also met a lot of friends through this program. ”

RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Color Guard

Our Color Guard takes part in ceremonies with professional and college sports teams across the Atlanta area.  We have also posted the colors for ceremonies with the GSU School President and President Jimmy Carter.  This program allows Cadets a chance to meet some truly extraordinary figures in our community as well as free tickets to plenty of games.

Military Ball

Organized by the third-year students, the military ball is a chance for Cadets and Cadre alike to meet in a social and relaxed atmosphere.  Dancing, food, and awards for individual performance make this night one of the most cherished of the year for the students and instructors here at GSU ROTC.
