RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

ROTC LABs and FIELD TRAINING EXERCISES

Weekly labs are conducted at the University, these labs give out Cadets the opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to challenging scenarios and training events.  These events are mentored by our Cadre, all of whom have combat experience and many years of leading Soldiers. Areas of emphasis include:

  • Land Navigation
  • Rappelling
  • Basic and Advanced small unit tactics and maneuver
  • Basic soldier individual skills

Campus Support

The Cadets of ROTC provide a great deal of support to the campus and surrounding community.  Events include Color Guards for sporting events, traffic control for campus events, the Homecoming Parade and the University Presidents Veterans Day Ceremony.  These events give the Cadets opportunities to meet new people and work with the different groups and organizations around campus.
