RANGER CHALLENGE

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

PERSHING RIFLES

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Ranger Challenge

Each fall, the 19 schools of 4th Brigade in the North Carolinaand Virginia area come together for a friendly competition at Fort Pickett inBlackstone, VA.  Each school’s Ranger Challenge Team consists of 10cadets. The competition includes the Army Physical Fitness Test, LandNavigation, Obstacle course, Basic Rifle Marksmanship, Grenade Assault courseand a Commanders Event that remains classified until the competition.

Dining In

Each fall, the Battalion conducts a Dinning In that is rich in militarytradition and builds Esprit-de-corps.

Dining Out

The dining out is a formal activity that allows for the cadets to get alldressed up in their class A uniform and show off their dancing and diningskills to each other and their dates.
