ROTC OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO EXCEL
In Army ROTC, it's not all classroom and field training. There are many opportunities for you to get to know your fellow cadets better and increase your skills in a variety of areas. Learn more about these events and activities below.

Cadets during ceremony on Campus
Cadets have the opportunity to participate in different activities and functions.

RANGER CHALLENGE
The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.
PERSHING RIFLES
The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.
Commissioning Ceremony
Each spring several cadets are commissioned into the United States Armyduring ceremonies held on each campus. Families, friends, University Presidentsand other distinguished guests take part in the commisioning as well as theceremonial first salute.
Homecoming Events
At Bowie State University, the ROTC program plays a huge role in all eventsand activities. Cadets not only have the opportunity to participate in thehomecoming game with opening ceremony, they also host numerous events oncampus.
Ranger Challenge
Every year, Cadets are given the opportunity to join the Bowie StateUniversity ROTC Ranger Challenge team. This event gives the cadets theopportunity to challenge themselves physically and mentally. Once your beenapart of this team you’ll settle for nothing less than the best.
