“ The Best Leadership Program in the Country. If anything this is a vast understatement of what APSU ROTC can do for you as not only a leader, but also a student and an individual person in general. I choose Austin Peay State University for a reason, we are among the top programs out of 272 others in the country. APSU ROTC is the reason for my placement in college: moreover, as a scholarship cadet I get paid for my books tuition and housing. The cadets in our program are more like a second family, they are there for me whenever I need them. Whether it be class help, military tactical assistance, or even just a friend to talk to and listen I have roughly 72 others I can depend on. No school, club, or fraternity/sorority can provide that kind of dedication. Also knowing that the day I graduate I have a job with a guaranteed salary that only increases with time is a relief beyond that of which you can imagine. Unfortunately, most students believe that ROTC completely engulfs a cadet’s life, much like the television movies depict. They could be no farther from the truth, ROTC is the most fluid and understanding college course I have, allowing me time to study or regain personal composure when needed. Not only are we more respected within the university but we are also more in shape and demonstrate a “Follow Me” and a publicly fearless personality: never hesitating to help other students, the university, or the community. ROTC has changed not only my view of college but also life, changing me as a person for the better I have never looked back in regret, I only consistently look forward in great anticipation of my future in the greatest Army in the war, The United States Army. ”
