Cadets learn the importance of spending time with team members.

“ I’ve always wanted to have friends and family away from home. ROTC was just the home I needed. ”

Tabitha Singleton, Heidleburg, MS

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Commissioning Ceremony

Each spring several cadets are commissioned into the United States Army during ceremonies held on campus. Families, friends, University President and other distinguished guests take part in the commissioning as well as the ceremonial.

Push-up and Cannon Team

During Football season, ROTC participates at the games being motivational to the team. When the team successfully makes a good play or a touchdown, the cadets do push-ups and shoot the cannon.

Color Guard

ROTC is active on campus in serving as color guard for games and for any other ceremonies in which the American flag should be present.
