"Doing nothing when you know someone is struggling with mental health will lead to regret, guilt and possibly death."
Master Sgt. Troy Hill has served as a soldier in the United States Army for over 20 years. He published his first book titled “The Eye of a Soldier” in 2018. He was compelled to publish the book when he discovered that his creative outlet of photography could be used to promote suicide awareness. Hill’s intention is that his images and words will meet people where they are, introduce a new reality and propose a positive outlook. When he is not serving as the Senior Master Trainer for the Oklahoma City Recruiting Battalion, he is volunteering in the community to help promote suicide awareness. Hill will continue opening conversations about suicide, on and off duty because he believes “everyone needs somebody and you never know when that somebody is you”.
