"Setting goals and perseverance is key to pursuing your passion."
Sgt. 1st Class Neal Young initially received his private pilot certificate while still in high school and after graduation, Young enlisted into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Soldier. In 2011, he started sharing his Army story within communities throughout the United States as a recruiter assigned to U.S. Army Recruiting Command. But Young’s passion for aviation never dwindled while serving as an active duty Soldier. He completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University because he knew one day he would fly again. And in 2018 he got back into the cockpit to purse his true passion--flying airplanes. He has worked diligently to earn a commercial pilot and flight instructor certification from the Federal Aviation Administration and currently works part time as a flight instructor. His 18 years of experience coaching, teaching, and mentoring Soldiers has directly transferred into his ability to coach, teach, and mentor aspiring pilots.
