
ANTONIO TIJERINO, HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION: FULL STEM AHEAD ON LATINO STUDENTS
Mr. Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of Hispanic Heritage Foundation and an active member of the U.S. Army Advocates group, wrote an article about the importance of engaging more Latino students in STEM education and careers to decrease critical workforce gaps and stimulate the American economy. The San Antonio Express-News published Mr. Tijerino’s article on September 11, 2017.
The article talks about the concerted effort of the U.S. Army and Hispanic Heritage Foundation to engage Latino students in interactive STEM events and programs. One out of four students is Latino in U.S. schools and by encouraging these students to enroll in STEM classes and prepare for future careers in this field, the result will help move America forward.
