“ The Army ROTC Program, here at Temple University, has quickly become the most important part of my college experience. This program allows me to live in a college dorm, take college classes, and meet other people in college; all the while I train towards being an officer in the Army. This is a goal I have had for as long as I can remember and now I have been given the opportunity to fulfill it. It is incredibly rewarding to feel like a part of something much bigger than yourself. ROTC has not only given me an opportunity to be an officer in the Army, but the training, activities, and everyday lifestyle, of an ROTC Cadet, have a wealth of benefits. For me, even as a new Cadet, I have already learned the value, in the hard work that ROTC demands. Physical training, a field training exercise, Ranger Challenge, and weekly classroom learning has all helped me unlock a new level of personal discipline. Finally, the camaraderie , support, and encouragement that comes from being a part of this group is not only helpful, but a lot of fun. ”

Each year senior cadets are commissioned into the United States Army as Second Lieutenants in a ceremony attended by families, friends, University Officials and other distinguished guests. The ceremony marks the transition from Cadet to Officer and is a significant milestone in the life of every cadet.
Physical training is part of a cadet's curriculum. They not only participate but learn how to teach others in physical fitness training. A strong mind and body is essential for success in the program.
