Hands up
Cadets learn the basics in searching and caring for Prisoners Of War. Here an enemy POW is detained for further questioning.
Cadets wishing to learn more about Combat Arms, specifically Infantry are encouraged to join the Ranger Company available at the University of Delaware.
" Knowing that you’re not only working towards a degree in your field of study, but a commission in the US Army gives more importance to the whole college experience. You really feel as if your training is time well spent."

Events and Activities

ROTC Offers Many Opportunities to Excel

In Army ROTC, it's not all classroom and field training. There are many opportunities for you to get to know your fellow cadets better and increase your skills in a variety of areas. Learn more about these events and activities below.

Ranger Challenge

The Ranger Challenge is an opportunity for schools to "compete" with each other completing military tasks. In addition to a written examination where Cadets test their Army knowledge, there are physical fitness drills and field exercises. Battalions leave a Ranger Challenge with stronger bonds and sharper skills.

Pershing Rifles

The National Society of Pershing Rifles gives Army ROTC Cadets the opportunity to develop to the highest degree possible. Cadets can take part in precision trick rifle drill teams that provide them with the outstanding traits of leadership, military bearing and discipline.

Welcome to the University of Delaware and the ROTC Program

In order to ease the parallel transitions from civilian to military and high school to college the ROTC Program sponsors a BBQ at the beginning of the school year.  Incoming Freshman and Sophomores learn basic military skills from our Cadet Leadership.  New Cadets learn saluting, marching, and how to eat a Military Ration known as an MRE, among other important basic skills.  The BBQ not only introduces the incoming Freshman to the Cadet Leadership, it also serves as an ice-breaker among fellow Freshman.
