As a Soldier in the Army Reserve, you'll have the time and freedom to put the educational benefits that you've earned to good use. You can also earn additional money for college. The following programs are available to all qualified applicants.
As a Soldier in the Army Reserve, you can take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill as a way to pay for a college education. Depending on how long you enlist, you can get up to $11,844 to help pay for college.
Up to $329 per month for 36 months for full-time students
You can add up to $350 per month to your MGIB for up to 36 months with the "Kicker." Kicker amounts vary with job and rank and certain rules apply for eligibility. For instance, you must be a CAT I-IIIA (50 or higher on ASVAB).
Up to $12,600 on top of your MGIB for college
If you're interested in becoming an Army Reserve Officer, Army ROTC may be the right choice for you. The Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) enables you to attend Army ROTC and serve in the Army Reserve at the same time. Cadets serve as Officer trainees in the Army Reserve while completing college and earn Reserve pay and benefits in addition to Army ROTC allowances.
Up to $17,000 per year for college

Paying off your student loans can be made easier with the Army's College Loan Repayment Program. To take advantage of this program you must enlist in the Army Reserve for six years.
Up to $20,000 for selected specialties to repay college loans
