As part of the Army's Infantry, you will be a member of a combat team that uses small arms, anti-armor or indirect fire weapons. Your training will actually occur in what's called One Station Unit Training (OSUT), which means your Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training will be combined in one school.
Overall, Infantry School trains Soldiers to be physically and mentally tough, disciplined and experts in all Soldiering tasks and drills. You will also learn the skills necessary to employ, operate and maintain various weapons and equipment.
