In addition, JAG Corps Attorneys can choose to serve either full-time in Active Duty, or part-time in the Army Reserves.

Training

The first step in becoming a JAG Corps Attorney is attending the Officer Basic Course (OBC). OBC consists of a Military Orientation Phase (since JAG Corps Attorneys do not go to Basic Combat Training) and a Military Law Phase.

History

The U.S. Army JAG Corps was founded by George Washington on July 29th, 1775, shortly after he took command of the Continental Army. Since that time, the JAG Corps has played a key role in the events that shape our nation and our world. Read about the rich history of the JAG Corps here.
