Being selected to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is an honor reserved for only the Nation’s most exceptional high school football players, as only the strongest wear the Army colors. As a U.S. Army All-American, these young men join the ranks of gridiron greats including Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck, Marcus Lattimore, Robert Woods and many other college and NFL stars. These young Americans have earned their selection by displaying some of the very same characteristics found in every Army Strong Soldier, on and off the field.

McDowell is a tall defensive lineman who has good size and athleticism, along with great body control and balance. His exceptional footwork allows him to get around blockers and into to backfield while pass rushing. He is active with his hands, helping him beat his blockers. McDowell is a very competitive athlete who plays every down from start to finish. He has room to add more muscle, which will allow him to develop into an even more disruptive force.
