Army Events

Now in its sixth year, the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band returns to perform during halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band features 125 of the finest high school senior marching musicians and color guard members from across the country.

The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band recognizes the Nation's leading high school band members. These young men and women demonstrate the U.S. Army core values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honesty, Integrity and Personal Courage in their everyday lives. Like the U.S. Army All-American football players, the national selection of All-American band members is based on a broad range of attributes that go beyond performance and include qualities such as academic achievement, leadership abilities and community service.

Mike has been playing piano since second grade and trumpet since fourth grade. He has played in the concert band as well as the jazz band during junior high, while serving as the stage manager for the school musical. Since freshman year, Mike has been first chair on trumpet in eight out of 12 band concerts and has participated in marching band since his freshman year. His first two years, he marched trumpet, while this past year he served as the drum major for the Marching Eagles. Mike also participated in the school’s top jazz ensemble since freshman year and the school’s Symphony Orchestra, which is the highest honor as a band student. He was selected by his band directors to be a part of the District 230 Honor Band. He has maintained a 4.1 GPA.
