Army Events

Now in its sixth year, the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band returns to perform during halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band features 125 of the finest high school senior marching musicians and color guard members from across the country.

The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band recognizes the Nation's leading high school band members. These young men and women demonstrate the U.S. Army core values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honesty, Integrity and Personal Courage in their everyday lives. Like the U.S. Army All-American football players, the national selection of All-American band members is based on a broad range of attributes that go beyond performance and include qualities such as academic achievement, leadership abilities and community service.

Carla Lackey has been a dedicated band student since seventh grade and has since progressed as the section leader of the front ensemble at Bassett High School. She has also been given awards for marching band, symphonic band, and percussion ensemble including 2009 Most Outstanding Marching Band Eighth Grade Member, 2011 Most Outstanding Symphonic Band Freshman Member, 2011 Most Outstanding Marching Band Sophomore Member, 2012 Most Outstanding Marching Band Front Ensemble Member and 2012 Most Outstanding Marching Band Percussion Member. She has also made All-District Symphonic Band since her freshman year, and she has been an All-State qualifier each year. Her junior year, she earned principal chair percussionist at All-District Band. She has also had the privilege of playing with the American High School Honors Performance Series Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in February 2012.
