The United States Army is proud to support "For Love of Liberty," a four-hour, two-part documentary film that acknowledges the role of African-American service men and women from before the first shots were fired in the Revolutionary War to our current battles against global terrorism. The film helps raise awareness and educate the public by telling relatively unexplored stories of the extraordinary contributions of African-American Soldiers in the battles for freedom throughout our nation’s history.
The “For Love of Liberty” miniseries uses letters, diaries, speeches, journalistic accounts, historical text and military records to document and acknowledge the sacrifices and accomplishments of African-American service men and women since the earliest days of the republic. The story examines why, despite enormous injustice, these heroic men and women fought so valiantly for freedoms they themselves did not enjoy.
The film is a tribute to those who have heroically served. It provides first-hand accounts of African-American soldiers who risked their lives in defense of this nation. For more information about the film, visit www.forloveofliberty.net.
